The academy's philosophy is that it is only a good education when it helps our students to achieve their goals. Their effort during the studies combined with the work and experience of our lecturers is the path towards a great start into the real world, a promising career journey and them standing on their own feet.

Our second Game Production Incubator programme is finished! Our Game and Interactive Media Course Alumni have worked 12 months as a real development team on a real project. Honing their skills, learning more about production and long-term development they have now finished the first playable demo for their fast-paced action sci fi game IKHAYA. Read more!

Zeta Hendrickse studied Concept Art at the Academy of Digital Arts from 2022 to 2024, and currently works in the animation industry as a pre-production artist.

Calvin Nel studied Game and Interactive Media Development at the Academy of Digital Arts in 2016. He is now part of a very advanced development company focusing on mixing the interactivity of game technology driven environments and WEB 3 possibilities as a software developer and game technology expert.

Gathrey Reeding studied Game and Interactive Media Development at the Academy of Digital Arts in 2017 after having finished his studies in Psychology. His job took him from working for companies in Cape Town to Sweden and he is now working as a Technical Lead Artist on game productions for one of the biggest mobile game companies on the international market.

Cassidy Chiara Thomas studied Game and Interactive Media Development at the academy in 2024. She specialized in 3D modelling at the end of her year and then joined the Game Production Incubator in 2025 at ADA with a group of her fellow Alumni. She is now working as a 3D character artist at a company in Cape Town, South Africa, creating mascots for local and international clients.

Kirwin v. Niekerk studied Game and Interactive Media at the academy in 2023. After that he joined the Alumni team of that year during the work on the District Six Museum's VR project and the Game Production Incubator working on Amanzi. He is now one with the UWC Innovation Hub working on VR and AR projects as part of a one year internship programme.

Reza Cloete studied and graduated in Game and Interactive Media Development in 2023. In early 2024 he joined other game course Alumni to work on the District Six VR Experience until its launch May 2025. After that he took part as programmer and assistant project lead in the Game Production Incubator '24/'25 working on the vertical slice version of the game AMANZI. Together with several former student colleagues from the academy he recently started a game development team. They are currently working on their first own game title.

Nathan Holmes studied Game and Interactive Media Development in 2023. After he successfully graduated he joined other game Alumni in early 2024 to work on the District Six VR Experience which was launched at the museum in May 2025. After that he took part as programmer and assistant project lead in the Game Production Incubator '24/'25 working on the vertical slice version of the game AMANZI. He and several former student colleagues from the academy recently formed their own game development team. They are currently working on their first own game title.

After having worked on multiple projects before and during her studies she now - among many other things - works for a game development company in Los Angeles from Cape Town, South Africa.
