Build real websites, fast
WordPress is the world's most widely used content management system, and learning it opens doors in web development, content creation, freelancing and digital marketing. In this course you will start from the basics: installing WordPress, understanding the dashboard and creating your first pages and posts. You will then build up to managing themes, customising layouts with the block editor and extending functionality with plugins. In Week 3 you will go hands-on with advanced features like WooCommerce, performance optimisation and site security, finishing with a live website you can show clients or employers. You will leave with a Certificate of Completion from the Academy of Digital Arts and a real WordPress site in your portfolio.
What you will learn
In this course you will learn the following skills:
- Setting up a domain and hosting account, installing WordPress on CPanel
- Using WordPress as a CMS: dashboard, posts, pages and media
- Planning and designing your website: selecting and activating themes, colour schemes and fonts
- Adding images, photo galleries, widgets and plugins
- The basics of creating an ecommerce site
- Basic coding and customisation
How it works
The course runs from Monday to Wednesday from 6 pm to 8.30 pm.
Over the runtime of the course you will learn everything from scratch while being instructed by a lecturer.
After the course is finished you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
You will have your project work as part of your portfolio.
