Write code that brings the web to life
JavaScript is the programming language of the web and one of the most in-demand skills in the digital industry. In this course you will start with the fundamentals: variables, data types, conditions and loops. You will then build up to writing functions, working with arrays and objects, and understanding how JavaScript interacts with the structure of a web page. By Week 3 you will be selecting and changing HTML elements in real time, responding to user events and building interactive page features from scratch. In Week 4 you will go further with APIs, local storage and ES6 features, finishing with a mini project that brings together everything you have learned. You will leave with a Certificate of Completion from the Academy of Digital Arts and real JavaScript project work for your portfolio.
What you will learn
In this course you will learn the following skills:
- Programming fundamentals: syntax, logical thinking and troubleshooting
- Variables, data types, operators, conditional logic, arrays and loops
- User-event handling: clicking, scrolling and hovering
- HTML and CSS manipulation: adding and removing DOM elements, basic animation and transitions
- Cool features: animated menus, sticky navigation, pop-ups, form handling and external libraries
How it works
The course runs from Monday to Wednesday from 6 pm to 8.30 pm.
Over the runtime of the course you will learn everything from scratch while being instructed by a lecturer.
After the course is finished you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
You will have your project work as part of your portfolio.
