I would suggest these classes to anyone – the lecturer can teach novices to extremely experienced learners. He has good classroom management skills and maintains open communication with all learners. This was an excellent learning experience for me.
Fantastic lecturers who have shown a lot of patience and understanding towards their students.
Great pace and clarity of teaching.
The lecturers supported me in the way I think, and gave me inputs to improve my website.
Good paced course. I had fun learning and participating in this course.
The lecturer had a great sense of humour, passion for his subject, knowledge and interesting inclusion of discussion of other forms of design.
Interactive, fun and confident. The course was loaded with information and ideas.
I greatly enjoyed that the lecturer offered ‘industry secrets and tricks’.
This module has been great fun and very interesting with regards to capabilities.
Good learning environment with a friendly lecturer
The lecturer is great! Very knowledgable and had good insight and experience to share with us.
All in all a great learning experience and definitely money well spent.
Busy doing After Effects with Lodi Paul, what a powerhouse of information and inspirational lecturer. True quality education, knowledge and experience it’s opened my world to another dimension in what’s available in the world of advertising, motion graphics, animation and the like. Thanks Lodi
The course and lecturer was great. When I didn’t understand something I could always ask without feeling bad. The way in which the course was conducted was great. My overall experience was good and I will definitely come back.
Lovely experience, was patiently and thoroughly taught the essentials of After Effects. The course schedule worked perfectly with my work schedule. Everything was easy to understand and helping assistance was always available.
I have done short courses at a different institution before and I must say that my experience at the Academy of Digital Arts was infinitely better. The lecturer was great, very informative and always willing to help. Even though I had a very good understanding and a lot of experience in After Effects before the course I found that I learnt a lot regardless and got and even better understanding of the program which is what I wanted to achieve. I actually wish the course had been a week or two longer just to gain more knowledge but I think I’ll have to come back to the Academy of Digital Arts for a different course.
I greatly enjoyed studying with the Academy of Digital Arts. Great lecturers and atmosphere, I would definitely come back!
Shot Academy of Digital Arts for an awesome course. I thought I knew everything when my company signed me up, but you opened my eyes to some great tricks of the trade and work processes.
Was impressed by the material and lecturing style. The trainer was engaging and knowledgeable, and took us step by step through the process. Well structured and polished.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this course. It has been such a significant experience for me because I have never been surrounded with so many people as excited about Concept Art as I am. I’d recommend this course to as many people as I can.
Great start to begin concept art, really opened my eyes to how objects are created using different values of grey. 10/10. Would recommend to others.
A++ for Andrew being the most enthusiastic teacher and knowing his stuff.
Most focused drawing/painting course I’ve been to, could feel myself improve. Loved it, you’re a brilliant lecturer.
I have done short courses at a different institution before and I must say that my experience at Friends of Design was infinitely better. The lecturer was great, very informative and always willing to help. Even though I had a very good understanding and a lot of experience in After Effects before the course I found that I learnt a lot regardless and got and even better understanding of the program which is what I wanted to achieve. I actually wish the course had been a week or two longer just to gain more knowledge but I think I’ll have to come back to Friends of Design for a different course.
An introduction to UX Design
A User Experience Designer is focused on how a website **feels**
The responsibility of a UX designer is to make sure a website flows logically. UX Designers are in a way like mini-psychologists, they ask questions that are routed in Behavioural Psychology, in order to understand better what people do when it comes to using digital platforms. They also do what is known as Beta-Testing, so the UX designer can gain a better understanding of how people are interpreting and interacting with the intended communication.
UX is the first step in the creation of a website. The students will gain a deeper understanding into the methodologies used to create and test the User Experience, to enhance the design and provide a better end product for both the client and the end user.
In this course you will learn the following skills:
The Basics | An introduction to UX/UI | Building usability into your projects | User Stories | Apps and Tools available
UX Research | Requirements Analysis | Contextual Enquiry | Surveys | Card Sorting | Affinity Diagramming | Personas | User Journeys | Scenario Mapping
Wireframes | Creating Wireframes using Balsamiq | Setting up prototypes in InVision
From eye tracking to timing, working in labs or accessing the user remotely. Testing is all about what the user thinks.
Working UX Into A Project Management Plan | UX strategy in action | Agile | RITE
Facts, Figures and FAQ.
